I majored in Forest Ecology.
It's a good idea to see the different disciplines. I like to see the students and, of course, I like to run into some alumni.
I've seen the activities. For example, there used to be the alumni activities in the evening. I remember having the Spring Fest. The Fest was sort of with Ag Field Day, but that was more when I was a student. It definitely feels different coming as an alumni.
I worked on yearbook and The Green Print. Mostly it was taking pictures. I wasn't involved in animal showing, but I took pictures of people getting involved.
I have been back almost every year except if it's been really lousy weather. I skipped a few. In the past however many years, I think it's been mostly nice.
The ROTC program use to do rappelling off the Food Science Building , so that was pretty interesting. You'd go up the stairs to the roof, they'd put you in the harness on the lawn, then you'd go up and they'd put you on a rope and you'd rappel down the building. So that was the first time I did rappelling off the building and I remember the weird feeling.
Of course a common thing to see, was the [??] Cow, I'm not sure if it still happens.
When the kids were little they used to like to go to the bouncy rides and to see the animals. Now every year we try to go to the Food Science Building where they sell ice-cream.
I living in Woodbury when I was a freshman and then for the next three years I lived in the Newell apartments
The students that I knew participated in Ag Field Day. My family lived in NJ so I wasn't around a lot of weekends, but when it was Ag Field Day, I was definitely around. So I think it had a high participation rate.
It's nice to come back and see people, professors.
